About Rachel

Hello, I'm Rachel, a BABCP-accredited High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based in Norwich. I qualified as a CBT therapist in January 2022 and have since delivered therapy to children, adolescents and adults in both the public and private sector. Before training in CBT, I worked as a Social Worker within a busy community mental health team and completed placements in child protection. This background gives me a well-rounded understanding of the challenges people face and the systems around them. I currently work with OneBright and offer remote therapy sessions via Microsoft Teams, making it easy to access support from wherever you are in Norwich, Norfolk, or beyond.

What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a collaborative, goal-focused therapeutic approach that helps you identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours. Rather than focusing solely on the past, CBT equips you with practical tools and strategies to manage difficulties in the present and build resilience for the future. CBT is recommended by NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) as a first-line treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions, and is one of the most extensively researched forms of talking therapy available.

Identify Patterns

Together, we'll explore the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may be keeping you stuck, helping you understand how they connect and influence one another.

Challenge & Reframe

You'll learn to recognise unhelpful thinking styles and develop more balanced, realistic perspectives that support your wellbeing.

Build Lasting Change

Through practical exercises and techniques, you'll develop skills that extend well beyond our sessions, equipping you to manage future challenges with confidence.

What I Can Help With

Over the past few years, I have worked with a wide range of presentations across both the public and private sector. Below are some of the areas I commonly work with. If you don't see your specific concern listed, please do get in touch as I may still be able to help.

  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
  • Social Anxiety
  • Panic Disorder
  • Specific Phobias (e.g. emetophobia)
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Mood & Self-Esteem

  • Depression and Low Mood

  • Trauma-Focused CBT

Neurodevelopmental Support

  • Guidance for schools and parents on reasonable adjustments

All conditions are treated using NICE-recommended, evidence-based CBT approaches tailored to your individual needs.

A Little About Me

Outside of the therapy room, I'm Norwich born and based, living with my boyfriend and our miniature Dachshund called Dash, who has far more energy than his size suggests and keeps us well and truly on our toes. I have always been fitness-orientated and am currently training for my second half-marathon. I'll be the first to admit I'm not the strongest runner, but I do like to set myself a challenge (or two) every so often. When it comes to therapy, I'm pretty down to earth. I place a lot of value on the therapeutic relationship and on people feeling comfortable and at ease in our sessions. I can have a laugh and a joke whilst also holding space for the more uncomfortable or challenging feelings and conversations, because sometimes, that balance is exactly what's needed.
